Weeks 7- 11: Video Game Design with Bloxels
Design a high-tech, interactive video game with codeSpark (K-1) or Bloxels (grades 2-5)!
Kid Coders will create and design their very own video game(s) using the Bloxels game creation platform! Bloxels is "a hands-on platform for kids to build, collaborate, and tell stories through video game creation." Please have your camper download the Bloxels EDU app here, and create his/ her own account before the first day of class.

Weeks 12- 16: Dash & Root Robot Coding
Code Dash & Dot robots- two friendly bots that love to complete missions. Experiment with measurement, sensors, and tons of abilities to achieve badges throughout our session.
Kid Coders will learn coding concepts through a block-based coding language called Blockly. This is a visual coding language that is rooted in Javascript code. Beginning coders will become proficient in the Blockly language as they learn the fundamentals of coding: sequences, algorithms, loops, events, conditionals, functions, and variables.

Have a Roomba- Robotic Vacuum? Then, your child must learn how to code Root!
Through coding Root, Kid Coders will be introduced to a visual programming language that will progress from Level 1, a visual programming language to Root’s Level 3 coding language “Level 3 allows Kid Coders to solve problems and learn the syntax and structure of professional coding languages in Swift.” Find out more about Root here: https://root.irobot.com/
Participants must be entering grades kindergarten to 5.
Need a little extra time after school? Have your Kid Coder spend Wednesday afternoons with us!
Click on the session box above to find out what we will be doing. Each session covers a different tool or topic. Coding concepts learned in one session can be applied to different robots or programs. Sessions can also be attended individually, with no background knowledge necessary!
Immerse your child in the latest technology to learn the basics of computer and robotics programming. Our instructor is former Saint Johns County Teacher of the Year- Lauren Wade, who knows how to engage campers of all ages and abilities... differentiating learning for every Kid Coder.
You will be amazed at what your child can do!
Bring Your Own Device! iPads preferred, but most tablets will work! *Please contact Ms. Lauren at [email protected] if your child needs to use a loaner device. We do not want anyone to miss out on this opportunity because of lack of technology!
Registration fee of $10 is non-refundable. Session payment due on start date. Prorated for late registrations.
*Cancelation Policy- If minimum enrollment not met, club will be canceled and parents will be notified the Sunday prior. If a family decides to cancel, club costs will be transferred to a Kids Can Code family credit for use towards a future club, camp, or class.
