Join us for a fun week exploring computer coding!
Love iPads and computers? Want to learn how their programs work? Then this club is for you! Work through lessons on https://codespark.com/ to discover the fundamentals of computer programming. Explore additional coding tools such as the augmented reality coding game “Osmo Coding,” as well as robots that run on code, like Dash, Root, and Ozobot. This club will introduce students to a variety of tools in order to expose students to all of the different avenues coding can open!
Children that attend this camp will learn coding concepts through a block-based coding language called Blockly. This is a visual coding language that is rooted in Javascript code. Beginning coders will become proficient in the Blockly language as they learn the fundamentals of coding: sequences, algorithms, loops, events, conditionals, functions, and variables.
Kid Coders should bring their own mobile devices. App requirements will be emailed after registration.
Participants must be 5 years to 12 years old when the program starts.
Code your very own Ozobot Evo- that you get to keep!
Receive your own customizable Ozobot Evo robot to code! Evo gets kids coding and loving robots with the stroke of a marker. Customize, code with colors, and advance to OzoBlockly, a block-based coding language that teaches kid coders the fundamentals of coding through learning sequences, algorithms, loops, events, conditionals, functions, and variables. Complete Ozobot challenges and competitions, all while learning how to code! Take your Ozobot home with you and keep the coding fun going all summer!
Kid Coders should bring their own mobile devices. App requirements will be emailed after registration.
Participants must be 5 years to 12 years old when the program starts.
Hopscotch Coding: Grades: Rising 2nd- 7th - Use Hopscotch to make games and learn to code!
Learn to code through creative play! Explore the basics of computer science all while making art and games that you actually want to play. Create games like "Geometry Dash" and "Subway Surfers," even "Minecraft Remakes!" The possibilities are endless! Campers will need to download the app- click here: Hopscotch for Schools .Participants must be entering grades 2 to 7.
LOCATION CHANGE! This week's camp will be held at The Discovery School- 102 S 15th St, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250
Design a high-tech, interactive video game with Bloxels!
Campers will create and design their very own video game(s) using the Bloxels game creation platform! Bloxels is "a hands-on platform for kids to build, collaborate, and tell stories through video game creation." Please have your camper download the Bloxels EDU app here, and create his/ her own account before the first day of camp.
Check out their site here: https://edu.bloxelsbuilder.com/. Your child will be ecstatic to share the games that they created!
Participants must be entering grades 1 to 7.
Have a Roomba- Robotic Vacuum? Then, your child must learn how to code Root! Through coding Root, campers will be introduced to a visual programming language that will progress from Level 1, a visual programming language to Root’s Level 3 coding language “Level 3 allows campers to solve problems and learn the syntax and structure of professional coding languages in Swift.”
Find out more about Root here: https://root.irobot.com/
Participants must be 5 years to 12 years old when the program starts.

Explore the world of Awbie while coding with the Osmo, or write your own song with Osmo Coding Jam!
Osmo is a device that is "crafted with reflective artificial intelligence" that allows students to connect with code in their physical environment. There are three coding apps that this camp will focus on: Coding, Coding Jam, and Coding Duo. Each game provides physical coding blocks so that players can interact directly with their code. Kid Coders will learn logic and problem solving skills, while discovering algorithms, loops, and variables! Find out more about Osmo here: https://www.playosmo.com/en/coding/.
